Who you are
- A strong sense of empathy that allows for a deep understanding of our customers’ needs

- Familiarity with modern web services and APIs. Experience with authentication protocols (SAML/OAuth), MFA, IdP is a bonus

What the job involves
- You’ll work directly with developers that want to learn how Stytch works, help them design an implementation, and answer any questions they have along the way
- Throughout that path you’ll also be serving as the voice of the customer within Stytch and closing the feedback loop by ensuring their insights make it back to our Product, Design, and Engineering teams
- A collaborative environment, working with customers and internal teams to push our product forward
- Serving as a confident technical resource and voice for our customers
- Learning — our product suite and problem space is continually evolving, and staying on top of those changes is critical to success
- Building your own approach based on first principles and turning that into a scalable process
- Serve as a technical resource for customers when they have questions about our product
- Work on scaling our team and improving our core product

Our take
Passwords don’t typically offer the levels of security they once did, and we need more of them than ever - leading to poor security practices and a huge volume of subsequent data breaches. Some startups have emerged to help manage them; Stytch, however, is part of a growing cohort looking to cut them out entirely.
The idea is to make navigating digital space frictionless. To this end, Stytch has developed an out-of-the-box, easy-to-deploy version of about a dozen passwordless authentication solutions. It has seen a sharper increase in users and funding than rival startups like Magic, which it puts down to an API-first product, which is less limiting in its application than the widgets we’ve seen developed by earlier entrants to the space.
That alone, however, won’t be enough to push it ahead of other highly successful innovators in the space. Transmit Security has received record-breaking backing for its biometrics-led approach. This goes to show how far the market is betting on a passwordless future, and whilst Stytch’s line of attack is successful, it will nevertheless need to remain sharp in its development of new solutions.
