Avant Arte is a digital platform for collectible arts, exploring new ways to open the doors to art collecting. Avant Arte are working on online and offline initiatives that empower the new art collector and help artists to reach the right audience.
Role
Who you are
- Strong and distinct creative vision
- Refined visual acumen and aesthetic sensibility
- Interdisciplinary creative outlook and approach
- Concept development for internal and external pitches
- Creative and art direction (including briefs, direction on-set and delivery)
- Writing and editing
- Content strategy, including for social media
- Passionate and knowledgeable about art and its position within wider culture
- Digital asset creation (Adobe CS, Figma, etc.)
- Ability to build web content using a front end CMS
- Able to work quickly across multiple projects without compromising quality of precision
- Able to work flexibly and under pressure
- At least 4-5+ years of relevant professional experience, gained through roles in either creative agencies or relevant in-house positions
- A portfolio or website showcasing your best work
- A polymathic mindset - someone who is able and excited to combine innovative, impactful visual and written content with strategic, commercially-oriented thinking
What the job involves
- Avant Arte’s content and marketing has a reputation as among the most innovative and high-quality of any in the art world, and is an extension of the brand's mission to make collecting art more accessible
- The Creative plays a central role in delivering and supporting this, being part of a team who create cut-through content that tells the story of each and every artwork we release
- Creating on-brand visual and written content at the highest level of quality, to support the launch of limited edition artworks
- Developing innovative concepts and campaign proposals for collaborations with artists and institutions
- Writing pitches and briefs which articulate your ideas precisely and compellingly
- Proactively leading, and contributing to, wider projects and initiatives that help keep Avant Arte’s content a reference point, connect editions with audiences in new ways and amplify the brand
- Lead film and stills shoots, both remotely and sometimes on-location in the UK
- Working effectively and collaboratively with other teams across the business, from artist liaisons to our printmaking studio
- Delivering assets and copy for website and social media, plus considered, concise and clear front-end page builds in CMS
- Providing content and copy support to marketing and wider business, where required
- Using insights to guide iterative optimisations to improve your own and the wider teams output
- Working strategically to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Collaborating with writers, photographers, videographers, editors and producers

Our take
Avant Arte started as an online community in 2015, and quickly gained a huge organic following (they currently have 2.5m+ followers on Instagram). They're now using their platform as a way to inspire and enable the next generation of art collectors.
They work with leading global contemporary artists and rising stars to produce limited edition sculptures and print editions, which they sell through their own platform (splitting profits with the artist for providing access to their pool of art collectors). The majority of their launches all sell out within minutes, showing huge demand for their products.
They're looking to disrupt the global art market, which is worth ~$70bn a year and growing. This is a space that has been dominated by auction houses like Sotheby's and Christie's and large powerful galleries like Gagosian. With a Product team run by Diogo Teles (formerly of Booking.com and REKKI) and Engineering team run by Riaz Bordie (formerly Check.com), the company’s strategy focuses on creating the best experience for buying art online, as well as fostering their community of next generation collectors and building a platform to serve all of their needs.
