- Fundamental understanding of cybersecurity concepts

What the job involves

- In addition to MDR and other services, Sophos’ complete portfolio includes industry-leading endpoint, network, email, and cloud security that interoperate and adapt to defend through the Sophos Central platform
- As an MDR Threat Analyst Intern, you will support the Managed Detection and Response (MDR) team in its effort to protect organizations against the most advanced threat actors in the worl
- You will expand your skillset through a wide variety of experiences, detecting and responding to cyber threats as they occur in real time
- You will collaborate with seasoned threat analysts to investigate, identify, and neutralize cyber threats within our customer base
- You will also work with our technical training team to drive training and enablement-focused projects and programs for the MDR team
- Drive the development and execution of training on topics such as security operations policies, processes and procedures, threat identification/analysis, and incident response
- Actively research emerging Indicators of Compromise/Attack, exploits and vulnerabilities with the intent of operationalizing findings to better protect our customers
- Create technical adversarial attack simulations using lab resources with the goal of developing/growing analysts’ skill
- Collaborate and work alongside current MDR analysts against threats that impact our customers
- Ensure documentation is regularly updated to maintain the applicability and accuracy of course material
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training activities through assessment of course feedback and performance evaluations

Sophos is not a new player in the cybersecurity space, but has demonstrated its dedication to innovation with continued product launches, updates, and acquisitions such as that of BAE spinout SOC.OS that have kept its tech at the front of the market. Alongside many of its peers, the effects of the economic climate have caused Sophos to cut staff as it focusses on achieving “the optimal balance of growth and profitability", but this recent hiccup does not take away from its position as a market leader continuously leading adaption in the space.
