Role
Who you are
- AI & Data Science: You need to have a good understanding of how data is used in AI or be ready to learn rapidly. If you don’t have experience in this area, we would expect deep expertise in data exploitation from another field, such as finance, defence, or open-source intelligence (OSINT)
- Intelligence Analysis: Hands-on experience as an intelligence analyst, including OSINT, political risk analyst, security operations manager, or financial markets analyst
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate complex data ecosystems, including diverse data sources, structures, and integration pipelines
- Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders, including non-technical teams
Desirable
- Domain Expertise: Background in geopolitical intelligence, political risk, or security analysis
- Training & Mentoring: Experience delivering training or mentoring teams in technical and analytical skills, including data science or intelligence analysis
What the job involves
- Drive exploitation and expansion of our unique data: We have data that others don’t. Growing and structuring this data is essential for us to make the best use of it. You will own and drive this effort
- Innovate Data Sources: You will track the emergence and evolution of new data sources and consider the utility of ones that ExTrac isn’t yet using, assessing associated engineering and hosting costs as necessary
- AI & Data Science Innovation: Stay updated on developments in AI and data science, advising on new techniques to maximize the value of ExTrac’s current and future datasets
- OSINT Tools & Techniques: Monitor advancements in tools and techniques used for OSINT analysis and investigations, ensuring ExTrac operates at the cutting edge of the discipline
- Bridge the Gap: Sit between our AI and data science teams and the domain experts in our research and analysis teams, understanding and explaining the requirements and perspectives of both sides and translating these into action
