Role
Who you are
- You have a degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a strong foundation in software engineering principles
- You possess experience in software development and have explored the field of prompt engineering, either through professional projects or personal experimentation
- Familiarity with AI and ML concepts, especially in the context of natural language processing and generative AI models
- Innovative thinker with a passion for exploring new fields and defining best practices in emerging domains
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
Desirable
- Experience in a fast-paced tech environment, working with AI-driven products
- Contributions to the field of prompt engineering through publications, open source projects, blogs, or public speaking engagements
- Experience navigating open source/vendor solutions in LLM ops space (Langchain, Pinecone, Gantry, etc)
What the job involves
- This role combines software engineering expertise, rapid protoyping, and the art and science of prompt engineering, playing a crucial role in how we communicate with and direct AI systems
- Drive large impact on Tome's growth by shipping magical creation experiences that customers are eager to use
- Develop and refine techniques for LLM engineering, focusing on how to effectively communicate with AI systems to generate desired outcomes
- Work at the intersection of software engineering and AI, defining and pioneering the field of GenAI interaction layers at scale
- Collaborate closely with the AI/ML team to understand the nuances of AI responses and how prompts can be optimized for better performance and user experience
- Craft and develop rich application features using React & TypeScript
- Build backends that are bulletproof, scalable, and fast using Node, TypeScript, Aurora PostgreSQL
- Work closely with product designers to apply AI/ML for creating features that delight users and stimulate and augment creators' imagination
- Experiment with and implement scalable systems for prompt-based interactions with AI, contributing to Tome's innovative storytelling capabilities
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research and trends in LLM engineering
Our take
On a mission to help tell stories, Tome uses artificial intelligence to help turn users’ ideas into a more compelling visual narrative. It is considered in many ways like a more stagnant PowerPoint presentation, enabling users to easily create visual stories through layouts and images.
The product has experienced expansive and varied uptake, being used to close new business, prepare design portfolios, articulate brand vision, and create lesson plans, to name but a few. It stands out for generating full visual narratives with ease; users simply type in a prompt and hit enter, taking away the trials and tribulations that often come with a presentation.
The company is very green but just six months after its founding in mid-2022, it had already accrued more than one million users - the fastest productivity tool to do so - that ranged from students and teachers to go-to-market teams. 2023 series B funding will be used to add more value for its growing community.
