Role
Who you are
- This role requires a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, a passion for AI-driven innovation, and the ability to lead our process, standards and rituals within the team
- You're based in Spain or Portugal, preferably in Barcelona or Lisbon
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in product design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or strategic operational role
- Proven experience working on AI or data-driven products is highly desirable
- You have proven experience and ability in all different stages, from problem definition to development, testing, and implementation of user products
- You thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy working with unclear boundaries to shape a solution, and are a self-starter
- You believe that being Data-Driven is the key to success for every business
- You are a team player first and foremost and believe great things come from collaboration
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills
- You are a self-starter and are solution-oriented, and you're able to prioritize and work with minimal supervision
What the job involves
- As the Lead Product Designer, you will play a critical role in shaping the user experience and design strategy for our generative AI products
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, impactful, and visually stunning designs that leverage the power of AI to solve real-world problems
- Our Generative AI team will act as a central hub, collaborating with existing teams to deliver GenAI-enabled solutions within their scopes, identifying and leading new GenAI initiatives, and building the backend architecture to serve GenAI models at scale, all while controlling costs
- This position is part of our "Platform" organization. In Platform, our mission is to build systems, tools, and capabilities that empower all our product teams to deliver the best possible outcomes for our customers
- Lead the design vision, process and strategy for generative AI projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and user needs
- Define and visualize current and future customer experiences with relevant artifacts such as service standards, frameworks, personas, maps and blueprints, and customer experience strategies
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, researchers, and business partners to build coherent end-to-end services
- Lead design practice rituals and establish and maintain design standards, guidelines, and best practices
- Rapidly design, prototype, and test concepts for services and products based on a deep understanding of business and customer needs
- Plan and lead co-creation workshops with product teams, collaborators, and business partners
- Communicate and influence design decisions. Communicate and present design work to the team for review and feedback to drive decisions and commit to final UX deliverables. Champion the values of experimentation, design, and product experience quality across the company and the leadership teams
- Oversee multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design and AI
Our take
OLX group started as an alternative to Craigslist outside the US and has since ridden the wave of classifieds, e-commerce and marketplaces to become one the most prominent web platforms in the world.
Over 300 million people use an OLX group website every month. The company has managed to reach this level primarily through the acquisition and integration of emerging marketplaces that typically delight customers with their easy-use and quality range.
The company is now deepening its M&A strategy by integrating further marketplaces and inventories on behalf of its largest platforms, like OLX Autos. The business has already done $1B of revenue since operation.
While some brands have been flying high, others like the Russian-based Avito have become liabilities. Navigating these fluctuations in the fortunes of its ever growing portfolio of brands will continue to pose the biggest challenge for the group.
