- The role is for someone who is a self-starter, enjoys exploring data for insights to support strategic decision making, is passionate about building data structures, analyzing and reporting on key performance indicators, comfortable to work on operational matters, willing to develop expertise in fraud and credit risk prevention, has excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills, and is able to document effectively

- You have 5+ years of proven experience in data analytics, data engineering or quantitative analytics
- Proficiency in writing structured and efficient SQL queries for large data sets
- Proficiency in advanced data and analytics and statistical concepts, tools, and methodologies
- Have prior experience building intuitive data visualizations and dashboards that influence business decisions, utilizing tools like Looker, Tableau, Mixpanel, or similar
- Proven track record of managing complex initiatives with strong emphasis on data, providing actionable insights and tracking success of those initiatives
- Able to communicate complex problems in a simple and relevant manner at all levels
- Experience with translating analytical insights into data driven business prioritization
- You have strong business acumen coupled with highly analytical mindset
- You had the chance to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong sense of responsibility, self-starter, well organized, good planner, able to work independently and meet deadlines
- Experience with Python, R and other advanced analytical tools
- Previously experience in a fraud, risk & payment management environment is an advantage
What the job involves
- Billie’s Analytics team is at the heart of the company supporting multiple functions to make data-driven decisions
- Analytics team works closely with all Product segments, and other departments by innovating, hypothesizing, strategizing and providing recommended actions to relevant stakeholders (Decision science, Business Development and Account Management, Collection and Underwriting teams, Customer support and Marketing) in an integrated, scalable, secure and compliant way to enable the company's sustainable growth
- We are looking for a diligent Data Analyst to join Billie’s Analytics team and contribute to the development and enhancement of Billie’s analytical capabilities
- In this role, you will have the chance to make a significant impact by leveraging data and analytics tools, will look for solutions, establish relationships to be able to guide business decisions within the company values and expectations, and contribute to the ongoing growth of our portfolio
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply creative problem-solving skills, and drive business growth through data-driven strategies
- Perform analysis to develop a deep understanding of the product, and its usage, business processes, and to support business and research hypotheses, including A/B testing of product ideas, identifying new product and business opportunities
- Support product segments in creating effective tracking and measurement plans to ensure the impact of new features align with our product strategy
- Design data models as part of data solution to support reporting and analysis needs
- Create, maintain and update dashboards and reports using BI tools to communicate insights effectively
- Enhance data processes, identify gaps, and streamline data collection
- Collect, consolidate, and closely track KPI metrics regarding Billie’s portfolio
- Use statistics and ML concepts in developing actionable business solutionsPerform comprehensive data analysis and EDA to support Risk and Fraud systems optimization
- Communicate and present recommendations and key insights to stakeholders and executives to drive business decisions and create an impact
- Communicate issues in an independent and timely manner with appropriate internal and external partners
- A hybrid working approach that allows you to work from home for up to 3 days per week
Our take
Buy Now, Pay Later(BNPL) options have exploded in popularity in recent years, with companies such as Klarna and Clearpay providing an additional line of credit to customers allowing them to split the cost of their purchases over several installments. Billie is a BNPL built for business transactions, using machine-learning driven risk models to responsibly finance B2B purchases.
With over 100,00 customers processing more than €750 million on its platform, Billie does not face much competition in its market. While BNPL firms like Afterpay and Klarna could theoretically move into the B2B space, they are specialised in B2C financing and lack Billie's data on the B2B sector. Billie also boasts a range of features designed specifically for intra-company sales such as instant verification, invoicing tools and business payment options which give it a large advantage against any new rivals.
Billie has raised a significant amount of funding from investors, most recently in a 2021 Series C round. Additionally Its 2022 integration with Klarna, allowing companies with a Klarna installation to swiftly switch over to Billie's payment options for B2B sales has removed a major roadblock to its future expansion. This move, alongside its entrance into more markets in Europe, will likely speed the company's ascension to Unicorn status and solidify its market lead in the BNPL space.
