Role
Who you are
- A passion for creating a fun and engaging employee experience
- At least 6+ years of experience in full-cycle recruitment, focusing on full-time, highly-skilled roles, in the logistics industry
- At least 2+ years of experience in learning & development from onboarding to upskilling
- At least 1 year of experience at Brokerage in either a recruiting capacity or as a carrier or customer representative
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and third-party vendors
- A sense of humor and a positive attitude!
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) is a plus
- Previous leadership experience
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems and Learning Management Systems
- Self-motivation, exceptional time management, and organizational prowess
- A professional demeanor, positive attitude, and superior communication skills, both written and verbal

- As an essential member of our People team, you will own the recruitment process from start to finish and ensure that Flockers are onboarded and have the training they need throughout their careers
- Your mission is to oversee a small but mighty team and is ideal for a hands-on professional who excels in both leadership and individual contributor tasks
- A successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing team performance, driving project success, and contributing directly to key initiatives in recruiting and people development

- Lead the small but mighty recruiting and learning & development team, ensuring effective talent acquisition and continuous employee growth throughout the firm. Step in personally to help recruit top talent or conduct training sessions
- Partner with department leadership to understand their hiring and learning needs and develop a comprehensive strategy that supports our growth goals while ensuring alignment with our values and culture
- Lead our data and reporting efforts, establishing and tracking key recruiting metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement in our recruiting and learning & development team
- Use data to make changes to processes that will allow us to move more quickly and efficiently
- Effectively manage our ATS (Greenhouse) and LMS (Absorb), ensuring a smooth transition for candidates through the interview and hiring stages to onboarding and continuous growth
- Build and maintain trust through high-level credibility, integrity, and effective communication with managers, team members, candidates, and vendors
- Innovate and expand upon existing recruitment and training strategies to cultivate a strong talent pipeline and grow our current team's skills
Our take
Many startups are working on solutions for trucking fleet networks to operate with more efficiency, but these are largely focused on logistics over the shipments themselves. An individual truck must be assigned to every single shipment regardless of its size, an inefficiency that results in a large carbon footprint, damage to items, and late deliveries.
Flock Freight provides a trucking shipment management system that allows for a pooling service of multiple shipments to be distributed within a shared truck. This reduces the number of trucks required for a batch of shipments whilst also ensuring that operating trucks are filled to their maximum capacity.
Whilst the majority of innovation in the trucking industry revolves around optimizing logistics to facilitate sustainability within growing fleet sizes, Flock Freight instead focuses on reducing the need for such systems in the first place. Ultimately, this fresh perspective is providing a means for the shipping industry to tackle great inefficiencies in the costs and emissions of their trucking fleets.
