Role
Who you are
- We're looking for someone with a strong background in both finance and operations, with a proven track record of successfully guiding startups through Series A and beyond
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA and/or CPA preferred
- 10+ years of experience in finance and operations, including experience in a high-growth startup environment, preferably in the digital health or technology sectors
- Advanced proficiency in financial software tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, FP&A tools)
- Exceptional communication, writing, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently present to various stakeholders
- Strong operational management and process improvement skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
What the job involves
- As our VP of Finance and Operations, you will be a key member of our leadership team
- You will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities and operational functions of the company
- You will lead strategic planning, financial forecasting, budgeting, operational management, and fundraising efforts
- In this role, you will report directly to the CEO
- Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and working capital to ensure liquidity and financial stability
- Provide strategic financial and operational recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on financial analysis and projections
- Collaborate with the CEO to secure additional funding rounds, including Series B and beyond
- Oversee the preparation of financial documents and due diligence materials for prospective investors
- Manage relationships with existing investors, preparing and presenting financial reports and updates
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all departments
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives to improve operational performance and support growth
- Manage resources, including human capital, technology, and infrastructure, to ensure optimal allocation and utilization
- Lead initiatives to enhance operational workflows, reduce costs, and improve overall company performance
