Role
Who you are
- The ideal Sales Engineering candidate brings a strong SaaS technical foundation paired with sharp Sales competencies needed for revenue generation
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or similar
- 2 years of experience in a similar role, (SaaS pre-sales/solutions engineering/solutions consulting)
- Business fluency in English is required
- Strong interest (and ideally experience) in the Digital workplace, Communication and/or Employee Experience verticals
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentations) with a focus on simplifying complex narratives through the art of storytelling
- Understanding of web development methodologies, REST APIs, User Authentication protocols (SAML, OIDC) as well as a high-level understanding of SDKs
- You enjoy communicating and working with customers directly
- You bring the ability to quickly understand technical concepts and effectively communicate them to technical and non-technical people
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Solutions Engineer in North America to join our high-caliber Sales Org
- As a Solutions Engineer, you partner with our Account Executives, collaborate with Product, cross-functionally work with Engineering & Customer Success to drive Sales cycles with existing & future customers
- Driving technical discovery to align prospect goals with the Staffbase solution
- Work with paired Account Executives to collaborate, build and deliver engaging value presentations to prospects
- Identifying use cases, building & communicating value through deep dive product evaluations
- Lead technical evaluation of the Staffbase platform with customer technical experts, navigating through their policies, limitations & techstack to ensure ‘fit’
- Positioning the Staffbase solution in its best light when crafting RFP responses by leveraging thorough knowledge of the platform’s capabilities & limitations
- Staying current with the evolving Employee Experience landscape, competitive intelligence & changing needs of organizations
Our take
Since launching in 2014, Staffbase has grown into a major name in the internal communications niche. Its platform is used by the likes of Samsung, ALDI, DHL, and Domino’s to create branded, mobile-first communication and information sharing tools which can access a company’s intranet from anywhere.
Staffbase has managed to set itself apart to some extent from the range of other internal communication apps like Slack and Teams by focusing on building a product tailored towards dedicated internal communication teams, rather than taking a more general approach.
This is proving to be a good decision as, with the shift to remote and hybrid working, the last few years have seen Staffbase gather serious momentum. A 2021 merger with Canadian competitor Banantang has been followed up by a series of major funding rounds and a rise to unicorn status. As well as this, it’s been expanding its own product portfolio through a number of strategic acquisitions as it looks to stay ahead of the competition.
