Who you are
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in software engineering management (5+ years) with a strong background in agile development, 8+ years of commercial software development, and launching new products (e.g., from initial planning all the way to delivery and adoption of the product)

- Attention to Detail: A commitment to delivering high-quality work and maintaining high standards

What the job involves

- We are looking for a driven Director of Engineering to lead the development of new products on our New Markets team
- You will roll up your sleeves to code as well as recruit & manage a team of highly skilled engineers
- You are comfortable working in a rapid, agile environment, managing an ambiguous roadmap, and thriving when challenged with solving complex problems
- In this role, your focus will be creating amazing software solutions for customers of a new market and make a positive impact on people’s daily lives
- Building 0-to-1 Products: Lead the development of a new set of products and own the technical roadmap with our New Markets team; ready to code yourself as well as manage the team to achieving goals
- Lead & Mentor: Recruit and cultivate a high-performing team of individual contributor engineers, inspiring individuals to achieve 10x the impact of average engineers through mentorship and support
- Collaborate & Deliver: Work within a small, agile team to successfully deliver multiple features, fostering strong relationships with product stakeholders
- Drive Development: Take ownership of key product features, collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment with our strategic goals
- Strategic Partner: Act as a trusted advisor to senior management, helping to navigate decisions and drive team alignment with broader organizational objectives
- Enhance Processes: Continuously refine and improve development processes as the team evolves, promoting agility and efficiency
