Who you are
- You love working on models; grinding on model accuracy is something you find fun
- 5+ years of professional experience with a heavy emphasis on high-trajectory growth in AI modeling or data science products
- Deep understanding of LLMs, evals, RAG, agentic orchestration, classical machine learning and statistics
- Proven track record of treating data quality as a first-class product and building pipelines designed specifically for model training
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex model metrics into clear business impact for non-technical stakeholders
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a highly technical AI Product Manager to lead the development of the core models that power EvenUp’s intelligence
- This role focuses on our AI layer where you'll work on training, optimizing, and evaluating numerous models that extract truth from complex legal and medical data
- You’ll be responsible for increasing accuracy across key entity extraction models, building new models, increasing input modalities, building data flywheels, and ensuring we keep up with the state of the art in foundation models and agentic orchestration
- Own the strategic roadmap and tactical execution for core models, focusing on domain-specific entity extraction and linking models in the legal and medical spaces
- Dive deep into prompt engineering; build robust evaluation frameworks and gold-standard datasets to measure model performance and reasoning accuracy
- Partner with ML engineers, data scientists, software engineers, and legal/medical subject matter experts, to manage the end-to-end model lifecycle from data curation to post-production monitoring
- Balance technical trade-offs between model size and reasoning quality to ensure our features are both intelligent and commercially viable
- Research and experiment with emerging modeling techniques to maintain our competitive edge
Our take
Every year, millions of personal injury cases in the US are resolved with only a small fraction going to trial, leaving many victims potentially under-compensated due to inaccurate settlement proposals. EvenUp aims to change this by leveraging AI technology to streamline the assessment of injury cases.
The AI tools evaluate raw case files, including medical and police records, creating tailored "demand packages" that present comprehensive compensation arguments. This improves lawyer performance and victim outcomes.
Despite concerns about AI bias and privacy, EvenUp has garnered significant investor interest, closing a funding round in 2025 that was one of the largest in the history of legal AI. Now valued at over $2 billion, it is investing in its team and introducing new techniques and products for personal injury and other legal areas.
