Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree minimum
- Minimum 8+ years’ experience in technical program management
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
- Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen
Desirable
- Master’s degree in a STEM field
- A background in quantum computing, optics and photonics, or experimental physics
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Experience in product development
- Experience seeing technology-based projects through the full life cycle including managing schedule, risk, and budget
- Prior experience on first-of-its-kind, early technology-based products or projects
- Resourcefulness and the ability to predict challenges to proactively head-off obstacles
- Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others
- Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
- Ability to adapt tactics and strategies to meet diverse, early phase, and strongly technical projects
- Thorough understanding of risk and opportunity analysis and management processes related to program planning
What the job involves
- We are seeking an Engineering Program Management Lead to work on a supplier site in Malta, NY as a full time Quantinuum employee
- Lead development of and manage detailed schedules, budgets, resource needs, and work plans for technical deliverables on complex, multi-faceted hardware R&D programs
- Organize and coordinate with multiple technical and operational teams
- Lead regular status meetings, project reviews, and end-of-task retrospectives
- Ensure timely and effective communication of strategy, scope changes, risks, and progress between technical teams, partners, product and program management, and leadership through reports, dashboards, and presentations
- Identify opportunities to accelerate schedule or develop needed technologies
Our take
The processing power of quantum computing (QC) promises to yield substantial advances across dozens of diverse industries, from the development of pharmaceuticals, to the chemical industry and financial services. Billions are being poured into the steady development of these computers, both into the hardware and the specialised software which can harness these devices.
Quantinuum was formed from the merger of Cambridge Quantum and Honeywell, QC software and hardware firms, respectively. These two highly respected companies had independently made quite a stir in the QC space and attracted substantial investment. Their merger has created the world's largest integrated QC company, able to build and operate quantum computers at both the hardware and software levels.

Quantinuum's software is system agnostic, allowing the advances it makes to be used on other quantum computers as well as its own, opening up major business opportunities. So Quantinuum is working in conjunction with some of the sector’s major players, whilst also pursuing high-value customers and lucrative market opportunities. It’s remarkable work, and impressively funded to match. It will continue substantially impacting the progress of key industries going forward.
