Who you are
- 10+ years in Solutions Engineering, Presales, or Solution Architecture, with 4+ years leading global or cross-regional SE teams
- Demonstrated success in designing and operationalizing successfully presales and post-sales SE processes within a global revenue organization
- Expertise in Enterprise Cybersecurity SaaS, with working knowledge of security operations frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST/NICE, ENISA, OWASP) and ability to articulate value across security stakeholder roles
- Proven ability to collaborate with regional sales leaders, align on GTM strategy, and support enterprise deal execution
- Strong analytical and operational mindset, with experience defining and managing SE KPIs and performance metrics
- Hack The Box player experience is a strong plus—reflecting genuine passion for our mission and the cybersecurity community
What the job involves
- The Senior Director of Global Solution Engineering leads and scales the worldwide Solutions Engineering (SE) team across Federal/SLED, Americas, EMEA, and APAC
- Embedded in the global Revenue organization, this role is accountable for building and operationalizing a high-impact SE function that accelerates growth, enhances customer experience, and drives technical credibility throughout the customer journey—from pre-sales to post-sales
- This leader will architect a globally consistent (80%) but locally adaptable (20%) SE operating model, focused on enablement, process standardization, and deep partnership with regional sales and success teams
- Coaching and development of talent, implementation of effective and measurable presales/post-sales processes, and close alignment with GTM stakeholders are at the heart of this role
- Reporting directly to the CRO, the Senior Director of Global Solution Engineering will lead a distributed team of highly skilled SEs while working closely with Sales, Product, Customer Success, Enablement, and Content teams
- This role operates at the heart of our go-to-market strategy, collaborating with regional sales leaders to support complex deals, partnering with Customer Success to ensure seamless post-sales transitions, and feeding critical field insights into Product and Engineering
- The Director will also align with Enablement and RevOps to scale performance frameworks, and with Marketing to shape the technical voice of Hack The Box
- Lead, develop, and scale a high-performing global SE team, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and customer-first execution
- Coach and grow SE talent through intentional development programs, hands-on mentoring, and clear advancement paths across geographies
- Design and implement scalable SE processes that span both pre-sales (qualification, demos, POVs, workshops) and post-sales (technical handoff, onboarding, adoption, and expansion)
- Establish a standardized global SE operating model, including frameworks, tooling, and documentation, while enabling regional flexibility to meet local market dynamics
- Define and track performance metrics (e.g. , POV success rates, pre-to-post sales conversion, SE utilization, revenue influence) to improve operational efficiency and business outcomes
- Partner closely with regional Sales and Success leadership to drive strategic alignment, support high-priority deals, and deliver a seamless customer journey
- Influence product direction and go-to-market messaging by channeling field insights into Product, Content, and Enablement teams

Our take
Cybersecurity attacks have ballooned in number recently, shining a spotlight on the urgent need for tighter, sharper cybersecurity measures. Hack the Box’s response has been to create what they call a ‘massive cyberhacking playground’. It’s a cybersecurity skill platform where B2C users can explore gameified cyber training and penetration testing exercises, engage with the infosec community, and explore careers vacancies. B2B customers can access the same training, with additional administrative features.
All in all, it’s a comprehensive offering that allows Hack the Box to sit at the intersection of two lucrative and growing markets. On the one hand, an increase in people carrying out career pivots towards the tech sector, and pursuing online training opportunities. On the other, an increased business focus on (and investment in) improving cybersecurity postures.
Consequently, Hack the Box has seen substantial growth over the past few years, off the back of considerable funding up to series B. It’s touted as the world’s largest hacking community, with over 3.3 million platform members and a growing number of products, including new training programs such as penetration testing labs, and an academy. With demand for these skills rising, and demand for online teaching equally strong, Hack the Box is operating within a strong market with good growth potential.
