Role
Who you are
- 6-8+ years of B2B experience in SaaS environment or similar
- Knowledge and proven experience creating, executing and continually optimizing successful paid marketing campaigns and improvement of website performance
- Ability to manage a generous budget and provide strategic recommendations for best use of spend
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs) to measure success and identify opportunities
- Knowledge of A/B testing and CRO tools (e.g., Optimizely, Ninetailed)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills
- Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in digital marketing and measurement
- Big picture thinking and the ability to execute at the ground level
- Global campaign experience a plus
What the job involves
- We are looking for a dynamic and hands-on Senior Digital Marketing Manager to join our marketing team to co-lead and execute our digital marketing strategy
- In this role, you will plan, organize, and execute digital campaigns and programs that generate new leads, advance existing opportunities, and target key accounts. This role is integral to driving growth across all our digital channels, with a focus on paid search, display, social and retargeting, and conversion rate optimization for our website
- You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to design, plan, manage, and optimize digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels to generate pipeline revenue
- Develop, implement, and optimize integrated digital marketing strategies to achieve business objectives
- Monitor and analyze digital campaign performance, providing actionable insights to improve ROI
- Plan, execute, and optimize paid search, display, retargeting strategy across platforms
- Manage generous paid media budgets and track performance metrics to ensure campaigns deliver strong ROI
- Analyze website and landing page performance to identify areas for improvement and test strategies to optimize conversion rates, including A/B testing
- In the first 30 days, the focus is on onboarding and assessment—understanding the company’s mission, meeting key stakeholders, and evaluating current digital marketing strategies, website performance, and paid media efforts
- Oversee, maintain, and troubleshoot technical issues on the company’s website, ensuring they are optimized for performance, security, and user experience
- Training on internal tools and processes is also prioritized
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align digital strategies with broader business goals
- Key deliverables include a documented audit, quick-win opportunities, and relationship-building
- By 60 days, the emphasis shifts to strategy development and execution, with a roadmap for improving paid campaigns, A/B testing for CRO, and optimizing audience targeting
- Deliverables include a 6-month strategy, improved campaign performance, and initial test insights
- By 90 days, the goal is to refine and scale successful campaigns, integrate cross-functional initiatives, and establish performance benchmarks through dashboards and reporting
- Deliverables include measurable improvements, optimized processes, and long-term growth recommendations, ensuring a structured and data-driven approach to digital marketing success
Our take
Cockroach Labs was founded by a team of ex-Google employees who wanted to build a database management system similar to Google’s Spanner. The result is CockroachDB, an open-source distributed SQL database. It offers local or global scaling with familiar SQL, failproof fault tolerance, and guaranteed transaction consistency, and can be deployed across any cloud.
Maintaining full SQL compliance with global cloud capabilities will help Cockroach Labs take advantage of the wave of companies needing to scale their existing SQL databases onto the cloud. Cockroach Labs grew from a $2 billion valuation to $5 billion in under a year, proving itself as an enticing and approachable prospect in this developing sector.
It already commands a high-end raft of clients including Comcast, Bose, and Baidu - but competition is stiff, particularly with industry giants like Oracle and AWS. Its hope is that CockroachDB’s high failure tolerance and geo-distribution will provide attractively swift functionality whilst allowing customers to remain within their legal jurisdictions - and will prove pivotal in 5G use cases. Its success to date, targeted updates to ease network migrations, and its recent expansion into EMEA markets, suggest it has a strong shot.
