Who you are
- You understand reliability concepts such as SLIs/SLOs/SLAs and error budgets, and you can apply them in day-to-day operations
- You have hands-on experience with observability, including monitoring, logging, and tracing, and you understand when to use which signal
- You have some experience with troubleshooting and enjoy solving problems. When things get stressful, you stay cool headed and work through issues step by step, asking for support when needed
- You are familiar with incident management practices and procedures (on-call, escalation, comms, post-incident follow-up)
- You have hands-on experience with a public cloud, ideally AWS (other providers are also relevant)
- You prefer writing over talking and can produce clear, reusable, minimal documentation such as runbooks, post-mortems, and work instructions
- You have strong opinions, weakly held
- You can adapt, negotiate trade-offs, and reconsider decisions when needed
- You choose tools pragmatically and avoid one-size-fits-all thinking
- You bring respect, professionalism, and basic human decency to how you work with others
- You have solid technical fundamentals and prefer understanding and first principles over memorization
- You are proficient in English
What the job involves
- You improve security and compliance of our observability ecosystems, ensuring it meets the requirements of the healthcare sector and relevant European standards and regulations (e.g., C5, GDPR, ISO 27001), with the support of your team
- You monitor and operate our newly emerging AI portfolio and ensure it runs reliably, performs well, and remains transparent as it scales
- You establish and maintain SRE practices such as SLIs/SLOs, availability targets, and error budgets, and use them to continuously improve reliability
- You assist in incident response activities, coordinate incident management, and perform root cause analyses, including clear post-mortems and follow-ups
- You drive capacity planning, support scaling initiatives, and ensure our systems remain stable as the company grows
Our take
Discharging and transferring patients from hospitals to other care facilities is a lengthy process, weighed down by a heap of administrative tasks and paperwork. This is bad for both patients and hospitals, which is why Recare has stepped up to help improve the process.
The company supplies a digital discharge management platform to automate some of the administration associated with patient transfers. In a nutshell, it enables hospital workers to find the right aftercare facilities for their patients by simply entering their needs, and subsequently request a transfer online.
This approach benefits patients by supplying the care they need, hospitals by reducing stay time, and aftercare facilities by enabling them to optimise the use of their capacity. Its a promising concept, and has earned Recare a good amount of funding which is being used to expand its marketplace and bring faster aftercare to more patients.
