Who you are
- A storyteller at heart, passionate about brand-building, social media, and strategic communication
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social platforms
- Creativity and attention to detail in content creation
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
- Interest in the wellness or nonprofit space is a bonus
- Ability to work up to 30 hours per week
What the job involves
- Join Daxko as a Public Relations & Communications Intern and gain hands-on experience across media relations, content creation, executive communications, and internal messaging—all within a mission-driven company serving the wellness, nonprofit, and tech sectors
- You'll work directly with the Communications Manager and collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leaders in a fast-paced, supportive environment
- Assist with crafting and distributing press materials (releases, media pitches, alerts) that drive real media attention
- Monitor media coverage and maintain key media lists and databases
- Support media outreach and placement opportunities with national and local journalists
- Brainstorm creative story angles and long-term PR strategies
- Assist with writing and editing social media content and executive communications, ensuring brand voice consistency
- Contribute to the development of case studies and testimonials from customers and utilize those testimonials and success stories for usage on external platforms
- Contribute to enhancing Daxko’s brand presence on platforms like LinkedIn and Glassdoor
- Help draft internal communications and assist with company-wide announcements
- Support logistics and materials for PR events, trade shows, and leadership engagements
- Pitch in on strategic projects like a website content audit or intranet revamp
- Provide general support to the Communications Manager
- Currently pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
- Internship or coursework experience in PR, communications, or social media preferred
- Bonus points for familiarity with brand management, SEO basics, or SharePoint
- Interns will work approximately 20-30 hours/week
