Role
Who you are
- You bring 5+ years of experience in Sales, Business Development, or Partnerships, ideally within marketplace, retail, or e-commerce environments working with brands in the Household Appliances or Garden space
- You speak German and English fluently; an additional European language (e.g. Italian) is a strong plus
- You have a proven track record of closing complex, enterprise-level deals, managing long sales cycles end-to-end
- You are passionate about working with people and can communicate, influence, and persuade stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership and C-level counterparts, backed by strong commercial acumen
- You are resilient and persistent, learning from setbacks without losing momentum
- You are a structured, analytical problem-solver who can quickly understand complex business and operational setups

What the job involves
- As a Senior Business Developer for the category Home & Garden you will be responsible for identifying, acquiring, and closing high-impact partnerships with brands and professional sellers, shaping the assortment strategy and growth
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize strategic sellers and brands within the Home & Garden category, building a strong and differentiated pipeline
- Analyse market trends, demand signals, and assortment gaps to shape the category’s acquisition and growth strategy
- Lead the full sales cycle independently — from first outreach and business case development to contract negotiation and deal closure
- Act as a problem solver for prospective sellers, collaborating with internal teams to address commercial, operational, and technical requirements
- Guide new partners through refurbed’s marketplace processes to ensure smooth onboarding and successful go-live, working closely with cross-functional teams
- Ensure a structured handover to Account Management, providing clear visibility on opportunities, risks, and growth potential
- Represent refurbed at industry fairs, events, and conferences, building visibility and long-term relationships within the Home & Garden ecosystem
Our take
Buying refurbished electronics can be a fantastic way to give a device a second life whilst saving a bit of cash, but many people are skeptical of doing so. Such items are often sold through illegitimate channels and there is no guarantee that the device will work for long, resulting in people avoiding refurbished goods.
Refurbed provides a refurbished electronics marketplace, which is challenging this. It allows users to browse and purchase refurbished devices that come with a minimum of 12 months' warranty.
The platform operates based on a monthly subscription fee, and whilst this will present a challenge when alternative marketplaces are free to use, the company has recognised that consumers are happy to pay for quality and warranty. Through its marketplace, the company aims to increase the prevalence of refurbished device purchases, helping to reduce waste and carbon footprints and helping consumers save money in the process. $40 million in 2025 funding is being invested into AI-driven efficiency and CX solutions.
