Company mission

To empower teams to create the next big thing.

Role

Who you are

  • We are looking for highly experienced full stack engineers who like the challenge of understanding problems end to end, talking to users, asking hard questions and working in a tight team to iterate fast on solutions that integrate multiple systems
  • A track record of building high-quality products fast - We always seek the right balance between moving fast and building for the long haul. We're seeking someone who has thrived at tackling complex product challenges in fast-paced environments
  • Frontend development: Javascript/Typescript with any modern front-end framework (React, Angular, Vue, etc). Experience with React is a strong plus
  • Backend development: expertise in any modern backend stack (Java, NodeJs, Python, Go, etc)
  • Experience building a cloud infrastructure is a strong plus
  • Experience with various storage types - SQL and no-SQL databases and communication technologies - REST, WebSockets, gRPC
  • Experience with AI, LLM and Machine learning is a strong plus
  • An ownership mindset - we position our team to understand customer problems and give them the autonomy to find the best path forward
  • Pride in your craft - We’re looking for people who take pride in their work and always want to improve it
  • An inclusive approach to your work - We’re looking for somebody who loves collaborating cross-functionally to achieve outstanding customer outcomes and is excited to contribute to our culture

What the job involves

  • Build products: As part of the engineering team, you'll work closely with the design and PM teams to plan, architect, and implement our core offerings. We’ll iterate as a team on the product experience to get it just right while also ensuring we maintain the codebase so we can move fast
  • Build our technical foundation: Our work today can make our future work better and faster. Since our product tackles a complex problem, we’ll need to build a flexible foundation that can adapt to various product needs
  • Grow the team: Everyone on the team plays an essential role in attracting, closing, and growing other talented team members. The team is the most significant factor in our ability to build unique products, so we look to you to help set the example for the kind of team we all want to build together

Application process

  • 01. Recruiter Screen: A 30-min interview to discuss your relevant skills, perspective on resilience, experience, and what motivates you to join Miro.
  • 02. Hiring Manager: The hiring manager will meet to discuss your experience and fit for the role by assessing whether you align with the Miro Mindset (Curiosity, Drive, Resilience, Empathy, Cognitive Agility & Accountability). This interview usually takes 90-120 minutes.
  • 03. Skill Assesment: An interactive presentation to see your skills in action, based around a particular case study or business problem.
  • 04. Meet the Team: Here you will meet cross-functional stakeholders, and we will ask evidence-based questions to evaluate how well you align with the role and Miro's values and culture.
  • 05. Leadership Round: Meet a member of the leadership team to discuss Miro’s company values and share your vision for success at Miro.

Our take

Millions of employees worldwide have moved to remote working, but existing tools are holding back the potential for collaboration. Tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams already provide remote communication platforms to millions of users, but they generally compromise on features required to emulate the team collaboration experience.

Miro has created a platform that provides enterprise tools such as collaborative whiteboards and mind-map software into an accessible and integrated service. As opposed to providing an 'all-in-one' add on, Miro allows businesses to customize and integrate the tools and resources within their individual platform to cater to the team's specific requirements.

Miro’s initial strategy of offering free and discounted subscriptions and then moving to paid models has paid off. The platform currently has over 35 million users and is trusted by enterprises such as VMware, Zendesk and Frog. As part of its ongoing battle with Zoom, Miro acquired video-chat startup Around in 2022, to remain competitive in the market.
