Senior Backend Engineer, Copilot Money

• 5+ years of experience working on backend services
• Strong proficiency in Node.js / JavaScript (TypeScript a plus)
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform
• Hands-on experience with API design and architecture for mobile and web applications
• Team player who can manage time independently
• Based in New York, NY

• To support this, we need robust backend APIs and infrastructure that can scale efficiently across platforms
• We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to play a key role in designing and developing these backend systems
• You’ll collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to scope, build, and optimize APIs and services that power Copilot across all platforms
• This is a hybrid position based in New York, NY; you’ll be required to come into our office at least 2 times a week along with the rest of the team
• We work from home the rest of the week, but the office is always available in case you want to make use of it more often
• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that support iOS, macOS, Android, and Web applications
• Contribute to architecture and infrastructure discussions, recommending improvements to ensure scalability, security, and performance
• Collaborate with Product and Client teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring best practices and high-quality standards
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in developer experience and system reliability
• Support the team in technical decision-making and mentor junior engineers as needed
