Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate is eager to learn and naturally curious about technology, data, and healthcare with a desire to gain experience at a high-growth company
- You're a rising junior, senior, or recently graduated with a degree in computer science or a related field
- Understanding of basic data engineering principles
- Knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, SQL preferred)
- Familiarity with DBT and Snowflake is a plus!
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Data Engineering Intern to support the Data Engineering Team in Claims Refresh Pipelines, Data Ingestion, etc
- This is a paid internship based at the Kalderos office in Boston, MA from June 9th - August 8th, 2025
- Attend and participate in agile ceremonies
- Write Code
- Participate in Code Reviews
- Participate in Bug investigations
- Regular Check ins discussing Solution approaches and progress
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Participate in creative ideation and brainstorming sessions
- Work alongside a talented group of interns across departments with an opportunity for social and volunteer events with the cohort
- Be integrated into the Data Engineering team building real technical solutions that impact existing product lines
- Upon completion of your internship, present your project to your fellow intern cohort and leaders across the organization
Our take
The high cost of prescription drugs in the US is a significant point of contention within the healthcare sector, particularly as prices continue rising. Despite policy proposals to combat this, very few changes have been made to tackle the problem of information asymmetry, where decisions are made by healthcare professionals without concrete knowledge of drug costs. Kalderos is a cloud platform that aims to bridge this gap to create a more transparent system for medical professionals and patients alike.
Using a machine learning platform, Kalderos identifies and resolves non-compliance in drug processes and costs to provide widely accessible data so that informed decisions can be made. The platform has worked with government bodies to demonstrate how it facilitates transparency in the sector to create a more efficient, honest process that is cost-effective for hospitals and patients.
Recent developments include a new Dispute Centre that provides drug discount management teams with sophisticated and detailed insights into the resolution process for disputes. This enables increased visibility that aims to ease workflows in order to allow users to maintain focus on treating patients. Kalderos is continually investing in its platform in order to create solutions like this for maximum transparency.
