Our take
Avolution is best known for ABACUS, its Enterprise Modelling & Roadmapping platform. The company essentially offers large organisations a way of optimising their enterprise architecture, i.e. the alignment of IT infrastructure and business goals – something which is understandably tricky within large, often multinational companies.
Founded in Sydney in 2001 and now expanded into almost every continent, Avolution has enjoyed an enviable trajectory thus far. Indeed, its customers now include universities and government bodies in Australia and the UK, as well as legacy financial institutions such as Barclay’s, Standard Chartered, and the Bank of Ireland.
Given the fact that Avolution is viewed as something of a leader in its field, and has plenty in the way of high profile clients as well as an international presence, the company looks to be in a very sound position.

Tim O'Neill
(Founder)Has been a Research Fellow at the University of Technology, Sydney since 2002. Has co-authored over 100 papers, journal articles, book chapters and patents on Enterprise Portfolio Management, Architecture and Modelling.
