Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Relevant commercial and sales experience, including familiarity with carbon and/or renewable energy markets and corporate sustainability
- Sustained success and a consistent track record of exceeding sales quota in a client-facing role in a B2B environment
- Strong sales and process management skills, backed by disciplined time management, organizational ability, attention to detail, and business administration skills
- Experience in building and maintaining networks with decision-makers
- Ability to manage complex projects and client relationships
- Proficiency in using CRM software (we use Salesforce)
- Adaptability in fast-paced, high-growth technical environments
- Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
- Quick thinking and persuasive communication skills

What the job involves
- We are currently seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to join our Client Solutions team, focusing on expanding our market-based environmental solutions in the US
- As a Senior Business Development Manager with Climate Impact Partners, you will play a crucial role in driving climate action by building strong partnerships with US-based clients and promoting our sustainable solutions
- In this client-facing role you will be directly responsible for the development of the revenue and margin in the region, taking the lead in identifying, developing and supporting new business leveraging our products and value-add services
- As a skilled communicator and translator, you bridge the gap between Climate Impact Partners' unique capabilities and the marketplace's needs
- You represent the face of our company to clients and prospects, including esteemed sustainability leaders
- Your enthusiasm lies in assisting leading companies to achieve their sustainability objectives and drive business value
- Collaborate with various teams to develop market-specific strategies that attract and secure clients
- Identify and pursue opportunities with companies seeking market-based environmental solutions across diverse industries
- Consult with prospects to develop strategies, programs, and portfolios that generate business value and align with their sustainability goals
- Work closely with project sourcing, technical, commercial, and legal teams to deliver tailored climate solutions
- Strengthen relationships with existing clients interested in enhancing their climate action
- Consult with clients to develop strategies, programs, and portfolios that drive impact and sustainability
- Retain and build upon relationships with our existing clients
- Stay updated on the latest trends and opportunities in environmental markets to deliver impactful climate solutions
- Developing sales strategies and go-to-market propositions

Our take
Climate change is fast heading for a point of no return, and it is increasingly important for businesses to trend towards net zero. However, achieving zero emissions by changing business habits and operations is a daunting task. Climate Impact Partners offers companies the chance to purchase carbon offsets, fund climate projects, and move towards their net zero goals, in a managed and simple manner.
Carbon offsetting is a tool for businesses to achieve net zero by purchasing parts in projects that have net negative carbon impact, in a similar way to purchasing stock. Climate Impact Partners sources and certifies the projects, so that clients merely have to choose where they would like to invest. Additionally, the company provides certification for businesses to showcase carbon neutrality, and a calculator for small businesses to assess their carbon impact.
Recently, the trade of carbon offsets has come under scrutiny, as opacity makes it difficult to ensure that purchasing them directly funds action on the ground. However, Climate Impact Partners, which is a leader in the space, demonstrates a commitment to carbon reduction by actioning the largest companies in the world to commit to reducing emissions.
