Who you are
- 6+ years in data analytics, engineering, or related fields, with 2+ years in a leadership role
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent work experience
- Strong understanding of analytics platforms, data visualization tools, data warehouses, and data pipeline tools
- Advanced skills in SQL and BI tools (e.g., Looker/LookML) and proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages
- Strong grasp of ETL processes, scalable pipeline development, and cloud-based data storage solutions
- Proven ability to balance long-term vision with immediate execution while managing competing priorities
- Exceptional ability to translate technical concepts into actionable insights for stakeholders
- Effectively communicate complex insights to non-technical audience
- Experienced in mentoring and growing teams, fostering collaboration, and driving results
- Collaborative, curious, and resilient, thriving in fast-paced, complex problem-solving environments
What the job involves
- We’re seeking a highly motivated Leader of Data & Analytics to build and lead Purple Carrot’s central data function, combining strategic leadership with deep technical expertise to drive business outcomes
- This role is at the heart of Purple Carrot’s strategy, ensuring we leverage data to power decisions, improve efficiency, and support growth
- As a cross-functional leader, you’ll partner with departments company-wide to transform data insights into actionable business strategies, foster a culture of analytics innovation and drive a best-in-class data ecosystem
- Guide a multidisciplinary team of Data Analysts and Analytics Engineers, fostering collaboration, growth, and innovation
- Define and execute a comprehensive strategy that integrates analytics, engineering, and business goals
- Develop advanced analytical methods to interpret large data sets, identify business opportunities and solve complex problems
- Oversee the design and development of performant, scalable ETL pipelines and data models to ensure a robust infrastructure
- Use SQL, BI tools (Looker/LookML), and programming languages (Python, R) to create specialized ad hoc analysis, predictive models and actionable insights
- Partner with senior leadership to identify data needs, prioritize initiatives, drive cross-functional projects, and influence key business decision making
- Evaluate and improve infrastructure, tools and systems to enhance accessibility, efficiency, and reporting capabilities
- Establish a data governance framework to uphold best practices for data quality, security, and documentation
- Lead the team in tackling ambiguous challenges with creative and scalable data solutions
- Establish A/B testing, ROI and KPI frameworks and best practices
- Build out quantitative and data-driven decision making culture that encourages self-service analytics within our business intelligence tool

Our take
Vegetarian, vegan, and other plant-based diets are becoming increasingly popular, but following through with changing eating habits can be difficult for many people. Plant-based diets generally require more ingredients, more food preparation, and more recipe research, preventing a lot of people from making the dietary change.
Purple Carrot provides a weekly subscription delivery service of plant-based food, consisting of both pre-cooked meal boxes and ready-to-cook ingredient boxes, empowering people to make this change with less of the fuss. The company has focused on ensuring that its products are high-protein and gluten-free, as well as fully recyclable and sourced sustainably.
Whilst other meal box delivery services provide vegetarian and vegan options, Purple Carrot has recognized how plant-based diets are currently trending, filling a gap in the market with its plant-first products.
