Our take
In the past, the majority of people have not prepared for death. However, in recent years, an increasing number of people are talking and planning for it as one of life’s key events. Funerals shifting towards meaningful celebration of life parties is a prime example of this.
Aura is an online platform where people facing end of life can leave an online legacy for their loved ones. It was founded in 2017 by Paul Jameson after he was diagnosed with motor neurone disease, but wanted to embrace life, plan ahead and leave his family in the best position possible.
Since then it has helped thousands of people tackle their hardships and is now run by Jameson’s family. The company has grown to offer celebration of life funeral planning, end of life support and the Aura Circle (a digital community of 30k people). With an important mission, Aura has great potential to build a significant business that impacts lots of people.
