Who you are
- This role is ideal for a natural business entrepreneur with a strong technical affinity for building automation and knowledge of the local regulatory environment
- 2+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably within the building automation or technology sectors
- Demonstrated track record of successfully growing sales and building long-term client relationships in the DACH region
- Technical affinity with building automation solutions, including energy management, smart building systems, or IoT technologies
- Strong knowledge of German building automation regulations is a significant plus
- A self-starter mindset, thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with a passion for growing businesses and taking ownership of new opportunities
- Fluent in German and a good command of English (written and spoken)
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a customer-centric approach
What the job involves
- We are seeking for a hands-on, entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to lead our expansion efforts across the DACH region, with a specific focus on Germany
- As the Business Development Manager for the DACH region, you will be responsible for driving operational sales activities, building relationships with clients, and ensuring business growth
- Your primary focus will be on finding new clients, establishing long-term partnerships, and selling Bisly’s building automation solutions
- Client acquisition: Identify, reach out to, and build relationships with potential customers across the DACH region, with an emphasis on the German market
- Sales execution: Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets, focusing on direct engagement with customers and decision-makers
- Market development: Work to expand Bisly’s presence in the DACH region by identifying new opportunities, untapped markets, and key stakeholders
- Partnership building: Cultivate relationships with key players, including resellers, system integrators, and industry influencers, to enhance Bisly’s market positioning
- Regulatory understanding: Leverage your knowledge of building automation regulations in Germany to navigate compliance and support customers in implementing regulatory-compliant solutions
- Technical consultation: Utilize your technical understanding of building automation to consult with customers and propose tailored solutions that meet their needs
- Sales reporting: Regularly report on sales activities, pipeline progress, and market feedback, ensuring alignment with overall business goals

As construction companies struggle to evolve their practices to be more energy efficient, more attention is being placed on energy analysis and “digital twin” start-ups that provide solutions to this problem. Bisly is one of these companies, offering software solutions for commercial and residential properties.
An “intelligent building” company, Bisly works at all stages of construction. It provides manufacturing and installation analysis, building management software that monitors gas and electricity consumption, and digital twin infrastructure to visualise a project at its conception. The overall aim of Bisly is to reduce installation and running costs, with claims it is two and half times cheaper than its competitors.
Bisly is savvy to maintain its base of operations in Estonia, placing it in proximity to a less competitive market than say, the US or the UK. Furthermore, EU green energy targets mean that automation and analysis companies like Bisly are in great demand - in Estonia alone, it has 20,000 installations. With this early success, and an injection of seed funding behind it, Bisly is planning to expand further across Europe.
