Role
Who you are
- An experienced sales leader with a track record of strategically leading and coaching a high-performing sales teams in global B2B FinTech or Payments businesses. You understand the dynamics of selling innovative payments infrastructure in a fast-paced, competitive market
- You’ve owned global sales targets and delivered sustained, YoY revenue growth, with deal sizes expanding and consistent forecast accuracy
- Ability to own accurate, reliable pipeline reporting to support clear, confident growth forecasts to leadership, the board, and investors
- A strong deal strategist, willing to lean in and unblock teams, coach on deal cycles, and act as an escalation point on commercial decisions
- Passionate about the process and mechanics of sales: from territory planning and ICP design to performance tracking and forecast discipline
- A compelling communicator, equally comfortable presenting to enterprise customers, C-level peers, and board stakeholders
What the job involves
- We are hiring a VP of Sales based in Utah or New York
- As VP of Sales, you’ll be responsible for building, leading, and scaling a global team of Sales Directors, driving revenue growth and market expansion across multiple verticals and geographies
- This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role where you’ll be expected to define and execute our sales strategy, coach and support your team to consistently deliver on targets, and lean into high-impact deals as a strategic partner and escalation point
- You’ll work closely with the CRO and executive team to shape our go-to-market direction and represent Runa externally as a trusted voice in the industry
- Defining and executing a global sales strategy to unlock and accelerate revenue growth within a fast-moving, high-performance business that values precision, ownership, and speed of execution
- Leading a high-performing team of Sales Directors across multiple regions and verticals
- Coaching and enabling your team to consistently hit and exceed ambitious targets, while personally leaning into key deals and customer opportunities when needed
- Owning strategic client relationships and being a key face of Runa in the market, actively engaging customers, attending events, and building meaningful industry relationships
- Collaborating cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, RevOps and Customer teams to align go-to-market initiatives and scale operational excellence
- Shaping the future of payouts infrastructure by helping businesses unlock new efficiencies through cutting-edge payment technology
Our take
The non-cash rewards industry is worth $300 billion, yet hasn't seen much innovation. Incumbents focus on physical gift cards, and a lot of the work is done on spreadsheets and outdated systems.
Runa (rebranded from WeGift) has built a platform that offers API access for businesses to automate sending digital rewards.
There are clear similarities to Stripe here: they revolutionised payments to businesses and are now worth $20 billion. Runa is providing quick integrations for developers and simple design, just like Stripe, but do it such that businesses can 'pay' their customers.
Runa had a strong year in 2023, diversifying its customer base and bringing to the market more than 1500 payout types. It is available in over 40 countries and 25 currencies, indicating a massive leap forward for the platform.
