Our take
Founded in 2017, Linearity, formerly Vectornator, is a digital graphic design tool that bypasses the quality limitations of raster-based software, meaning its design quality is more scalable and detailed. Within the Linearity suite, customers can use AI design assistance, community features, and workflow-optimizing tools, all aimed at the digital-first marketplace.
With digital design becoming the norm for creatives in the industry, Linearity is competing against larger competitors like Adobe Illustrator and Affinity but has benefitted from more than $25 million in funding and 5 million app downloads. Linearity is also being used by leading software companies such as Apple and Disney Resort hotels and has won numerous awards and recognition.
Founded by a teenager as a tool for their other startup, the potential of Linearity soon revealed itself and became its own product. With much investor interest in the design tool industry, Linearity is well-placed to grow in popularity over the coming years as it rolls out new products.
