What the job involves
- We are seeking an inspired Copywriter to join the Creative Team. You will contribute to the brand voice and craft compelling copy across all touchpoints (flexing to more emotional work as well as the conversion-driving hard-hitting stuff). You are a self-starter, clear communicator, a creative writer and a grammar-lover.
- You’re passionate about storytelling, problem-solving and wordsmithing. We want to hear your unique, big ideas and provide you with an environment in which you can grow and develop your craft
- Craft flawless copy that drives brand awareness, customer conversion and retention
- Write ads, emails, organic social posts, product copy, website copy and marketing collateral
- Contribute to brand messaging for larger company initiatives as well as creative campaign concepts
- Manage relationships and meetings with partnering departments to discuss copy needs
- Report into SVP Marketing and partner with other creative team members to ensure deliverables are managed, met and completed on time
- Nerd out on words – polish every line until it shines
- Adhere to our brand style guide and help to evolve it as needed
- Understand the competitive landscape in terms of voice, marketing and messaging – and continue to educate yourself through research
- Uphold editorial integrity and ensure all Parachute copy remains unique
- Have fun and take pride in helping our community feel at home
Our take
Parachute provides responsibly manufactured modern home and bedding products. The company found a mid-range niche in the home goods sector that previously only offered high-end or budget options and has proven popular with consumers looking for quality goods that are not mass-produced. Its capitalizing on a trend of emerging specialist direct-to-consumer brands that began with companies like Warby Parker and Harry's.
Initially based purely online, Parachute has since launched several physical retail shops to attract new customers and boost its image. Its product range has focused on natural fibers and items made with manufacturing processes that don't use chemicals. Explicitly tailored towards the modern consumer, its direct-to-consumer model has been driven primarily by strong social media campaigns with influencers.
Competitors such as Casper also offer modern home products, but Parachute has captured the luxury sheets market by becoming a lifestyle brand. Alongside a hotel line it created for use in boutique stays, the company recently teamed up with Target to launch a 200+ piece collection, making its signature style more accessible without losing the premium feel.
