Senior Backend Engineer, BEAT81

• You have professional experience as an Elixir Engineer
• Experienced in developing distributed applications
• In the Elixir stack, you have worked with internal Pub-Sub system, Oban, Phoenix + LiveView, and Open-Telemetry
• Strong experience in software architecture and application design, with a track record of making architectural decisions and a understanding of fundamental system architecture and API design (RESTful and event-driven services)
• Experienced in SQL and database schema design (PostgreSQL)
• You write clean and testable code and conduct code reviews
• You are highly cooperative person with the ability to establish and foster relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
• You are motivated by the challenge to solve problems and you like the fast-paced environment of a startup
• You are fluent in English

• As a Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir), you'll have a direct impact on the system that powers our workouts, having a direct impact helping our members to get healthy and fit
• You'll be developing an Elixir application that runs in an IoT-based system installed in our gyms
• You will be responsible for keeping this crucial element to our experience reliable, scalable, observable and maintainable to support our continuous user base growth
• We are big fans of devops culture, continuous integration/deployment and less bureaucratic process in favour of autonomy and responsibility
• You will have the opportunity to use cutting-edge tools and technologies, both cloud-based and integrated within our IoT-equipped gyms
• This pioneering role involves close collaboration with our Chief Technology Officer, Luis, our Staff Software Engineer Everton, as well as with our engineering and product teams at the Berlin office
• Building a workout experience that provides high levels of scalability, reliability, and performance, while balancing security, maintainability, and operational excellence
• Creating engaging fitness digital experiences that are delightful to our members and helps our coaches to deliver the best workout
• Helping your team deliver business value by taking decisions related to the backend and actively participating in product discussions
• Solve problems arising from our workout experience operations and ensure that the same mistake/error doesn’t happen twice
• Be proactive in performance & availability monitoring; provide remediations for systemic issues
• Ingest requirements, scope work, produce estimates and help define deliverables with project timeline
