Our take
Granola is a London-based startup that treats company meetings as a source of organisational knowledge. Rather than introducing a note-taking AI to meetings, Granola integrates with audio capture tools to seamlessly record online and in-person conversations. In doing so, it removes the need for AI agent integration, maintains a frictionless set-up and sheds platform dependency and compatibility issues.
Since launching its Mac app in 2024, Granola has seen explosive growth, with weekly growth rates above 10%R and expanding across Mac, iOS, and soon Windows. It has quickly become a must-have tool for people who want beautifully crafted, intelligent software that lightens workloads and amplifies impact.
And the team behind it is an experienced one (the CEO's previous startup was acquired by Google) and has raised to Series C in venture capital from world-class investors, including the co-founder of Instagram and senior leaders from Google and Facebook. Now at a $1.5 billion valuation, it counts the likes of Mistral AI, Cursor and Gusto as clients. Well on the way to achieving its objective of becoming a queryable context layer for meetings, Granola provides a seamless alternative to third-party recording bots and looks set to scale further.
