Our take
PowerPoint may still dominate the landscape for presentations in many people’s minds, but some might say that legacy status also makes Microsoft’s software ripe for disruption. Pitch, created in 2018, is in line to be a direct competitor to PowerPoint - founded by serial entrepreneurs whose last company was acquired by Microsoft for $100-$200M.
The startup has already seen good progress, and in 2023 reached the milestone of one million workspaces having been created on the platform. It is used by teams across industries, and customers include many other trailblazers in the world of business productivity such as Intercom, Superhuman, and Notion.
Pitch has been growing its user base across its free and pro offerings, as well as introducing an enterprise version suited to large organizations - which means it is now capable of serving a wider range of businesses. The newest updates to the platform include presentation analytics that allow users to see which decks are getting opened, how often and by whom; and a library feature for managing a brand from one central place.
