Sales of new petrol and diesel cars in the UK will end by 2030 according to the government. That’s a rapidly impending deadline and a fantastic tailwind for electric vehicle companies. One of those companies is the rapid EV charging point network - Osprey.
Osprey, formerly Engenie, is determined to provide the public charging infrastructure that the U.K. will desperately need. By focusing on delivering an easy-to-use, reliable and well-located product, the company has built an impressive reputation in the industry.
That reputation is also creating a positive engine for growth. The company is strategically pursuing partnerships with corporations operating large EV fleets such as British Gas who’s 9000 vehicle engineer-driven fleet relies on Osprey’s recently developed charger management platform.
The biggest challenge for the company continues to be the stellar competition it faces in the market from major operators like Tesla and InstaVolt. However, with both immense overall market growth and strong positioning amongst corporate clients, Osprey leadership will feel there is more than enough growth potential for its network.

Having started my career as an intern at Osprey, I was given autonomy from day one which allowed me to identify problems and formulate solutions that had measurable business impacts. Throughout my 3 years, this autonomy has remained and enabled me to learn a vast amount from this constantly evolving sector which is something that keeps me incredibly motivated.

Having joined as a Financial Controller in March 2022, I have enjoyed my experience to date. After a smooth recruitment process, I have enjoyed the culture and environment that Osprey presents. I am predominantly involved in the day-to-day management of the finance function, but the tasks are varied and enjoyable. I feel that it is an exciting time to be part of the Osprey project

There are also numerous social events which has allowed me to settle into the company. I also went on a field day, with one of our operations managers, which gave me a great insight into the operational side of the business.
