Who you are
- Are you excited about sales and have a passion for travel? Do you get energy from working with great colleagues in a social impact company with a higher purpose? Do you want to learn all about how to sell over the phone, from the first cold call all the way through to onboarding and post sale?
- You're eager to build connections and grow our community by signing up cafes, bakeries, supermarkets, and any other independent food retailers in new, Too Good To Go expansion markets
- Expert relationship builders who can quickly assess a new market, connect and empathise with potential local partners (restaurants, coffeehouses, bakeries and more)
- Confident cold-callers - we are heavily reliant on making outreach over the phone prior to being in market, so you need be ready to make high volumes of calls
- Excellent listeners and communicators who know how to ask the right questions to identify a prospect’s needs while also presenting our proposition with clarity and passion
- Proactive business development, calling and visiting new prospects, with the tenacity to succeed even when things get a little tough
- Team players, who embrace the overall purpose of Too Good To Go and are ready to embody our values to be passionate, growth-minded, and creative
- Independent executors, who can prioritise workload while communicating clearly and openly with their manager
- Consistent and impact-focused performance that hits individual and company targets
- 30-40% of the role is travel based, launching Too Good To Go in brand new markets
- We are looking for people who are looking to build a career in sales in a supportive and high growth social impact business. This could be your first sales role, or you may have some experience already in a sales or business development role
- Experience where you have pitched and closed opportunities over the phone and/or in person is beneficial, especially if you have done cold-calling
- Familiarity with long-term travel; having the confidence to quickly integrate yourself into a new city, understand local transportation and waste regulations, and identify key market opportunities
- First class communication skills - from listening to presenting ideas and persuading
- Resilience and motivation to achieve results through perseverance and high call and walk-in volumes
- A genuine motivation to contribute to our mission
- High energy, resourcefulness, and self-motivation
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A drive to achieve strong individual results while also helping your team succeed
- Experience managing your own sales pipeline and prioritising prospects based on insights is also beneficial
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to be on feet for up to 8 hours
What the job involves
- We’re looking for talented people with diverse skills and backgrounds to add to our rapidly growing team. That is where you come in: we’re looking for exceptional Sales Specialists to join us and help grow our impact
- In this role you will be focused on heavy cold calling, convincing stores to get onboard and save food with us. We will ensure you develop all the skills you’ll need to be successful. 30-40% of the role is travel based, launching Too Good To Go in brand new markets across the USA!
- You’re the first contact person of the store and will be doing a lot of cold acquisition, primarily on the phone, email, and in person visits
- You will introduce potential partners to the world of Too Good To Go, train them how to use the app and advise them on finding the best possible solution for food waste
- You will work with the team to execute city-specific launch strategies including researching expansion markets to find early adoption prospects and uncover local nuances, identify decision-makers, provide cross-functional feedback, and generate interest for Too Good To Go

With more than one-third of food wasted in shops and restaurants, tonnes of otherwise quality goods are unnecessarily lost. Too Good To Go connects customers to restaurants and stores that have unsold, surplus food, offering steep discounts. Through this, businesses can sell surplus meals that would've otherwise gone to waste, and the environment wins as no food is wasted.
The company has certainly found its niche with sustainability-conscious consumers (a group that is growing in size as environmentally-focused consumers get more spending power). Too Good To Go's app has over 90M users across 18 countries and 215,000+ partners including retailers, hotels and restaurants such as ALDI, Carrefour, Accor and YO! Sushi.
The company is also creating a food waste movement website intended to be an informative source of knowledge regarding the issue. This is part of a wider strategy at raising awareness of the food waste problem, to get more users on board and further help the planet.
