Our take
Capdesk is an equity management platform that enables high-growth companies to manage their cap tables accurately and efficiently. It's on a mission to change finance for good in unlisted companies, where equity is better utilised by employers and better understood by workers.
In 2021, the business raised a series A extension with Fidelity and Middlegame Ventures to support growth and develop a secondaries marketplace. Capdesk is partnered with crowdfunding platform Seedrs to help companies find buyers on the largest marketplace in Europe. This infrastructure mimics the London Stock Exchange, but for shares in private companies.
International expansion is a key focus for Capdesk moving forwards. This will build upon Capdesk’s existing customer portfolio featuring UK customers that include TrueLayer, Plum, Beam to Nordic giant Northvolt and German players Billie and Penta.
The company will be challenged with each country in Europe having a unique legal framework for equity. However, Capdesk are well positioned to navigate this landscape, and shows no signs of slowing down. In 2022, Capdesk partnered with Carta to create a global equity management solution. This signals a lucrative new chapter for the company, and will help to consolidate its already impressive market share.
