Role
Who you are
- Have a passion for the restaurant industry
- Sell restaurant owners on the value of partnering with Slerp and help them understand the value of our full suite of services (e.g. online ordering, loyalty, delivery)
- Lead complex negotiations to structure industry-leading and mutually beneficial economic terms
- Excel in a fast deal cycles and closing new business within a few weeks
- Use creative strategies in sales processes and prospect outreach
- Share on-the-ground insights with sales leadership and the rest of the organisation
- Mentor and collaborate with teammates on how to be the best version of themselves after establishing yourself in the role

What the job involves
- The Business Development team at Slerp is a small, fast-paced, high-performing group responsible for sourcing and signing up the most important restaurant partners to Slerp
- This team is central to Slerp’s continued growth
- We work closely with senior leadership, operations, product and finance teams both internally and externally to ensure growth for Slerp and our restaurant partners
- The Senior Manager, Business Development role will be responsible for identifying, engaging and acquiring scaling SME and mid-market restaurant partners across the UK
- This role will begin as an individual contributor but will be responsible for helping build our sales strategy and operations to scale the business
- We expect this role to be a combination in terms of time spent in-office and at partner sites/offices

Our take
The UK food delivery market more than doubled between 2015 and 2020 and is projected to be worth £6.5 million by 2025. The market has surged as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and Slerp is definitely following that industry trend. Indeed, between 2020-2021, Slerp experienced 600% revenue growth. This is not expected to slow since a third of the UK population will continue to enjoy fine dining at home after restrictions ease.
Slerp is an e-commerce solution for Multi-Site restaurants, Enterprise, Quick Service restaurants (QSR) and Casual Dining. It provides an alternative to companies like Deliveroo or Uber Eats for hospitality restaurants. Slerp sets itself apart by offering lower commission fees compared to rivals and the option for partners to customise their websites.
Brands like Zia Lucia, Chopstix, Ottolenghi, Island Poke, Crosstown & Karma Cans use Slerp’s service. For now, Slerp is focusing on British-based food businesses, most recently in the northwest of the country but, over time, it will begin to think about expanding internationally.
