Who you are

Demonstrable excellence - we're looking for someone incredible for this role
C# expertise
6+ years working at studios or gaming infra/tooling companies
Expert user of Unity (Unreal experience a bonus)
In-depth experience building custom gaming tools
AI knowledge - whilst there is no need to be an expert on AI/ML, ideally you have some experience working with such tools & some technical understanding
Customer-centric approach with an inclination towards product strategy
Startup mentality - keen to do the hard things at this early stage

What the job involves

We are looking for a top-notch individual contributor to support the development and integration of our AI tools into the daily workflows of game devs
More specifically, you’ll be working alongside our CTO & founding Research Scientist, building out our first product in Unity
As an early stage company, we’re looking for an experienced, ambitious individual who is happy to get stuck in, build rapidly and take ownership over everything they do. Beyond this, we’re also searching for someone who genuinely loves the game development process & is excited to help drive the company towards Product-market fit. In that sense, whilst most of the role will be development-based, you will spend a portion of your time on strategy, customer work and product-planning

Our take

As the gaming world evolves, developers look to new technologies and tools to improve their creative process. Generative AI – that uses unsupervised learning algorithms to create novel content – is one of these, that Unakin hopes to employ to help game developers research their projects, ideate and build protoypes.

Unakin is building a suite of tools to eliminate manual tasks in game creation and cut the time it takes for developers to complete their projects. Applications of the product include the creation of gameplay mechanics and narratives – all generated from a chat interface.

With the belief that text prompts are the future of creation, Unakin is getting in on the ground floor with a waitlist for beta access currently active on its site. It will be interesting to see how the product develops, and what impact it is able to have on the game creation space - especially as investor sentiment for generative AI is on the rise.
