Our take
Travel agencies can offer better value to their customers by having access to information from more travel providers. However, the systems that these providers use are often disparate, meaning that agencies must connect to and maintain various different reservation systems.
To solve this, Distribusion has built what it calls a GDS (global distribution system) that covers bus, airport transfer, train and ferry providers. It offers travel agencies an API, white label solution or widget to enable their customers to interface with different providers from a single source.
The result is an extra revenue stream for its travel industry partners and a seamless booking experience for its client's customers. This win-win approach has supported Distribusion to grow its business impressively over the years, raising strong funding that has been invested in expansion to more carriers and geographies, whilst further developing its technology.
