Who you are

3+ years of related industry experience
Competency in Altium or similar packages
Able to design automation-grade, high MTTF electronics equipment, custom PCBs
Knowledge of and experience specifying sensors, motors, servos, and other electromechanical components
Able to create and maintain detailed electrical schematics, ECAD BOMs, etc

Desirable

5+ years of related industry experience (e.g. electronics, embedded systems, hardware)
Applicable skills in at least one of the following areas: end effector (EOAT) design, industrial automation, robotic work cells
Development experience in modern C++, ROS, and Python
Experience with modern software development processes such as design documentation, code reviews, CI/CD, testing, project management workflow, and source control conventions
Competency in AutoCAD, Solidworks, or other CAD packages
Commissioning and system bring-up experience
Familiarity with machine safety, ANSI/RIA R15.06-2012 and NFPA79

What the job involves

As a Mechatronics Engineer in the Robotics Hardware Team, you will help us create advanced robotic systems for our customers
You will work closely with other disciplines (Hardware, Product, Software, ML, AI, etc.) designing electro-mechanical assemblies for our complex robotic systems
You will be asked to serve as a subject matter expert for electronics subsystems and own critical components of new robotic systems
You will work closely with our adjacent teams to ensure that your designs can be introduced into a production environment and serve as the foundational system for our advanced AI

As opposed to selling uniform robotics to companies, Kindred’s ‘pay-per-pack’ model provides an affordable automation solution whilst ensuring that the service is appropriately bespoke for successful order fulfillment of each company.
