The COVID-19 pandemic has put serious pressure on an already growing eCommerce industry. Services such as Amazon Prime have increased pressure for next-day order fulfillment, an expectation that antiquated assembly lines were ill-prepared for.
Kindred AI builds automated robotics that are purpose-built for eCommerce order fulfillment. The company's AI robotics pick and pack items to prepare businesses for long-term growth, using AI to recognize objects and apply human intelligence to the process. The company charges per successfully prepared item as opposed to directly selling its hardware.
This presents an interesting approach for the automated eCommerce order fulfillment industry. As opposed to selling uniform robotics to companies, Kindred’s ‘pay-per-pack’ model provides an affordable automation solution whilst ensuring that the service is appropriately bespoke for successful order fulfillment of each company.
