Our take

There is a big trend towards cycling and sustainable urban mobility solutions in general, with many bike and scooter sharing brands coming to market over the last few years. Since the COIVD-19 pandemic increased the demand for safer, no-contact mobility solutions, there are plenty of micro-mobility startups within this space.

This is where Fettle (first launched as Handlebars) fits in. With more bicycles and scooters on the road than ever before, but fewer and fewer maintenance workshops to support them, they’re on a mission to turn underutilised urban spaces (buildings, shops and car parks) into perfect and convenient locations for repair and maintenance.

This repair network for micro-mobility incubated by JustPark, also provides a collection service. They want to combine bike and tech expertise through services like HubTiger, a booking tech-platform that makes it easier for cyclists to use and help mechanics work efficiently.

The Fettleteam already have six London workshops, and are looking to expand to a range of new locations. With the support of businesses such as Brompton Bike Hire, Fettle is well positioned to grow within the urban mobility market.
