Product Designer, StuRents

• You're an accomplished T-shaped Product designer with the vision to help shape the way our products meet customer needs and help design solutions. You’ll already have been working in software industry roles in a product design capacity, taking multiple software product designs from initial ideas to complete working features. Ideally you’ll have worked as a designer in a similar or parallel industry such as business banking, travel booking, FinTech or accountancy SaaS
• You have product-marketing design experience. Making you commercially minded and obsessive about the end user journey, driving conversion and always looking at the next step of the funnel and how you design things in a way that encourage action from visitor and users
• You’re innately data driven and commercially minded. Using objective evidence and data to shape your recommendations, asset (building and enhancement) and overall approach to design
• You design for the long term. Things a few steps ahead and building and continuously enhancing our design systems and asset libraries for flexibility and scale
• You’re passionate about disrupting, transforming and simplifying complex systems with multiple user interfaces; and get a kick out of building and defining thoughtful detail whilst keeping the the bigger picture and future iterations and evolutions in mind
• You won’t be just a UI or UX designer; you’ll be an end to end product designer with experience across web, digital, branding, product-marketing and UI with a varied portfolio
• You’ll be a natural communicator and be able to clearly articulate to technical and business stakeholders how your designs meet our customers’ requirements and demonstrate to the company the value of the solutions that you design
• You’ll be innately curious and want to gain a deep understanding of client businesses and use this to inform product decisions and propose creative new product features, web pages, landing pages, social media / CRM templates taking account of the various user personas that interact with our platform and company every day
• You’ll have experience working within teams practising some form of agile software delivery methodology and can bring insight into how different design and development processes influence the delivery of software products, and suggest ways that processes can change to deliver better products
• You can rapidly prototype using simple tools (e.g. physical sketches, Excalidraw) and complex design packages (e.g Figma, Framer, Sketch/Invision); as well as understand core web design concepts such as font choices, CSS/Tailwind, component libraries
• You have a solid technical understanding of website fundamentals and SEO and can interpret usability and accessibility audit reports and work with the wider team to implement improvements

Desirable

• You’ll be heavily involved with how product ideas and guidelines turn into real usable products, with close collaboration with the design lead, front end lead, software engineers and product teams building the wider platform
• You’ll learn in detail about how our team supports client needs, and be responsive to changing designs to accommodate the ways clients use or feel about our products
• You’ll work alongside business development colleagues to see how we can quickly iterate on new features to bring on board new customers
• You’ll assist in mapping out user flows to understand what actions users will be able to carry out with the software we are developing
• You will be designing web-based application interfaces as wireframes, or interactive prototypes, that can be used by engineering teams tasked with building out the product implementation
• You’ll be producing prototypes alongside our front end lead, using these to demonstrate ideas or inform management about potential product development opportunities
• You’ll play an active part in maintaining our design system and in building our design asset library working closely with colleagues across the business
