Role
Who you are
- You've been designing user-centered experiences for at least five years, ideally in startup environments
- You've worked on challenges related to trust, safety, or adjacent problem spaces
- You've designed and shipped native iOS and Android apps
- Your portfolio isn't just high-fidelity mockups; it showcases impact, processes, sketches, collaboration, and reflection. You have at least two detailed case studies
- You've taken large problems and broken them down into bite-sized measurable chunks
- You have experience conducting user research, facilitating user interviews and user tests, digging through behavioral data, and synthesizing findings to identify trends and make recommendations
- You advocate for design by articulating and presenting the rationale behind your ideas
- You care about moving your team forward and look for ways to positively impact the team, not just the product
- You're results-oriented and always looking to improve the user experience
- You take the time to seek out and provide meaningful feedback because you know it's the best way to grow
What the job involves
- As a Product Designer, you'll partner with cross-functional teams to lead design efforts on Trust and Safety initiatives, helping ensure a secure, supportive experience for our users
- You'll report to the Product Design Manager and collaborate closely with teammates across product, engineering, and marketing
- While your initial focus will be in this space, we're looking for a versatile designer who can flex across other product areas as needs evolve
- The role demands creative problem-solving, excellent execution, and the ambition to take projects from start to finish
- We're looking for a systems thinker, someone who can dive deep into a specific feature while also understanding how it connects to the broader product experience
- You should be energized by collaboration, comfortable with ambiguity, and motivated by the opportunity to simplify complex problems for a wide range of users
- Lead the end-to-end design process and ship features across mobile and web platforms
- Partner with cross-functional peers to influence the product through a user-centered approach
- Work iteratively to define problems and quickly find solutions
- Speak with customers frequently, collect insights, test assumptions, and translate research takeaways into meaningful outcomes
- Facilitate design sprints and workshops to develop high-quality solutions
- Craft intuitive design flows, sketches, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI for mobile and web
- Help evolve and grow the design practice at GameChanger. Contribute to our design system, be vocal in design critiques, share inspirational resources, and aid in brainstorms
- Question the status quo and advocate for change

Our take
The competitive nature of sports has always been driven by scorekeeping, and nowadays results are often consumed online. However, for smaller teams it can be difficult to provide this information digitally, as they do not have dedicated web development staff.
GameChanger provides a scorekeeping and statistics platform for sports teams to engage with their fans, that allows viewers to track the progress of a game in real-time similar to with professional sports. The company also embeds a live-streaming service into the platform to facilitate remote viewing, helping to increase audience engagement.
Whilst some sports teams already stream events on platforms such as Twitch and Youtube, most do not have the technical resources to achieve this. GameChanger has recognized this gap in the market, providing a simple yet unified platform for sports scoreboards and streaming, providing a fair opportunity for any team to maximize their community engagement.
