SAP is a leading provider of business software for Enterprises, and the largest non-American software company in the world. Businesses often have extremely complex software needs, encompassing a range of requirements that many software companies would be unable to provide.
SAP has solved this problem since 1972 with its software packages. It is particularly well known for its ERP (enterprise resource planning) software and cloud technology for managing business operations and customer relations – used by over 200 million users worldwide.
Competing with the likes of Salesforce and Oracle, SAP has headquarters across the world, employing over 120,000 people. In 2021, it reported revenues of just under 28 billion euros and continues to grow through acquisitions – most recently adding Austrian martech platform Emarsys to its portfolio, and partnering with consultancy giant McKinsey.
