Role
Who you are
- 4+ years in QA or software testing
- Familiar with API testing using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools
- Strong experience in automation (Playwright, etc.)
- Comfortable testing integrations with third-party APIs (Stripe, Intercom, Twilio, etc)
- Collaborative mindset - comfortable working with PMs, developers, and designers
- Willing to do manual testing as well (roughly 60% automation, 40% manual)
Desirable
- Experience with performance/load testing, Datadog, Sentry
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools
- Exposure to mobile app testing and frameworks
- Experience with booking/calendar management projects
- Experience working on React and Javascript
- Experience with Native App (IOS/Android) testing
What the job involves
- Own regression and release testing for web + mobile
- Build and maintain Playwright automation suites
- Design and run manual tests for new features
- Work with PMs and developers to make sure everything is testable and stable
- Collaborate with PMs to understand the user and product objectives
- Investigate escalated bugs, using tools like Sentry to identify root causes and support production debugging
- Advocate for best practices and improve our overall QA discipline
- Track and communicate test coverage, risks, and defects clearly across the team

As with many brick-and-mortar industries, salon owners struggle with empty chairs and outdated, often complicated administrative software. Indeed, 65% of beauty salons rely on pen and paper for their admin. Slick was founded as an easy-to-use platform for salon businesses that helps with booking and payments.
Founded in 2017, Slick benefited from endorsement from L'Oréal and a partnership with leading London salon owner Samantha Cusick. Its software claims to save salon managers 20 hours a month on admin and boost profits by 25%.
With 2021 seed funding behind it, Slick is empowering more than 8,000 salons across the UK and partnered with Meta and Stripe. Focusing on an overlooked industry, Slick is doing for salons what automation has done for the hospitality and dining sector.
