Our take
As with many brick-and-mortar industries, salon owners struggle with empty chairs and outdated, often complicated administrative software. Indeed, 65% of beauty salons rely on pen and paper for their admin. Slick was founded as an easy-to-use platform for salon businesses that helps with booking and payments.
Founded in 2017, Slick benefited from endorsement from L'Oréal and a partnership with leading London salon owner Samantha Cusick. Its software claims to save salon managers 20 hours a month on admin and boost profits by 25%.
With 2021 seed funding behind it, Slick is empowering more than 8,000 salons across the UK and partnered with Meta and Stripe. Focusing on an overlooked industry, Slick is doing for salons what automation has done for the hospitality and dining sector.
