Our take

Wealth management has historically been the preserve of, well, the wealthy. Now, however, fintech developments have seen a flurry of startups bringing these services to the everyday consumer. The only problem is that assembling the right team, building a good product, and jumping through the regulatory licensing hoops can really hobble the rate of progress. OneVest has developed a suite of turnkey digital investment solutions to help these startups pick up the pace.

OneVest’s APIs allow tech companies and financial institutions to embed digital wealth management services in their client-facing products. Recent years have seen a rise in demand for digital wealth management and investment services, so the relatively young OneVest was savvy in identifying and closing in on this market opportunity.

OneVest has in fact moved impressively fast to build out its tech stack and secure various kinds of regulatory licensing since its launch. This demonstrates a real appetite and capacity for disruption. It will likely prove critical in securing a leading position in Canada’s as-of-yet relatively rigid wealth management sector.
