To drive the event sector's transition to a sustainable future.
Isla Collective, not to be confused with the fashion industry’s waste-reduction organization of the same name, is nevertheless also focused on a sustainable future for the planet. It’s an action-driven consultancy helping events professionals run their work sustainably.
Isla has a refreshingly data-driven and goals-based approach: it helps organisations set short and long-term objectives, then track, measure, and report back on any progress made. It also recently launched TRACE, an events-industry carbon measurement platform that’s seen rapid uptake by major players, including ITV and Cannes Lions.
Providing concrete data and tools is an important service, as well as a fairly rare one: social and regulatory pressure is mounting on businesses to demonstrate their green credentials, and whilst many lofty goals are being set, discontent is frequently voiced about the lack of concrete road maps and real accountability involved in planning.
So the young organisation has made some impressive first steps to disrupt the sector. With 12 founding agency members on the books already, a focus on an increasingly high-urgency field, and the data credentials to back it all up, isla is gathering good momentum.
