Our take

Cyberattacks are usually associated with hacking businesses and interrupting their operations, but there are even more detrimental forms of cybercrime. Malicious attacks such as ransomware and malware are beginning to be targeted towards critical infrastructure sectors such as energy and healthcare. As a result, a heightened sense of the levels of security required in these essential sectors has arisen.

OPSWAT provides digital security and protection services that are specifically designed to aid critical infrastructure environments. The company provides its MetaDefender Kiosk to healthcare networks, food and agriculture sectors, and over 98% of US-based nuclear facilities, scanning and fixing digital threats to prevent essential services from being affected.

The vast majority of cybersecurity services focus on protecting a business and preventing the financial impacts of security breaches, but OPSWAT has taken a different approach by focusing on protecting critical infrastructure. Critical infrastructure providers may be pressured to submit to ransomware demands due to the essential nature of their services, a scenario that OPSWAT aims to prevent.
