- SaaS-native sales expert with proven work experience as a senior account manager
- Prior experience selling AI, search and/or data infrastructure software to technical teams and business executives
- Discovery expert across a diverse range of potential use cases
- Unshakeable work ethic, entrepreneurial/startup mindset, and desire to succeed in a fast, ever changing environment
- Empathetic, humble and coachable customer-centric seller
- Strong public speaking and presentation acumen required
- Must be organized, detail-oriented and process-driven with a relentless pursuit of results
- Ability to understand and communicate advanced technology concepts
- Minimum of 5 years experience selling enterprise software (SaaS, Cloud preferred) as a primary account manager
- Four-year university/college degree or equivalent experience required
What the job involves
- Vectara is searching for a Senior Enterprise Account Executive who will be focused on sourcing and acquiring new business in the Bay Area
- This role is a unique bridge between our science and our customers. You will be connecting the user with the magic of our product
- You will be Vectara’s brand ambassador and the first touchpoint for new customers. You will be able to identify and source potential new opportunities, articulate Vectara’s unique technology and value, and generate excitement that leads to a pipeline of great prospects for the company
- The deals you close will be the foundation of long-term relationships between the company and customers who love us
- Independently manage full sales cycles with small, medium and enterprise companies, both creating leads from outbound efforts and converting inbound inquiries including expert negotiations, initial close, upsell and renewal
- Team selling model requiring internal alliances with field engineering, product marketing, support, customer success and leadership cohorts to delight our customers
- Commission-based role requiring consistent quota attainment
- Sales professional that finds & guides prospects through the Vectara buyer’s journey aligning relevant use cases and authoring tailored value propositions
- Convincingly articulate the Vectara business value proposition to executive decision makers
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve and accelerate the sales process
- Provide continuous feedback to Vectara sales leadership, engineering and marketing on how we can improve our offering and messaging
- Effectively manage a large pipeline of leads and opportunities in our CRM tool, maintaining accurate and relevant data on prospects and interactions
- Travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry / field marketing events

With AI poised to revolutionize all sorts of business processes and day-to-day tasks, Vectara delivers neural search-as-a-service technology to compete with keyword-based searching.
The company, which emerged from stealth in 2022, leverages large language models (a type of AI algorithm) to determine the intent behind queries, with the aim to bring meaning to search - and hence generate more relevant results. The platform can be quickly integrated to site and app searches, enhancing product discovery, user navigation, and more.
With substantial funding at its back, Vectara has launched both a free-to-use "Growth" product, and paid "Scale" version that enables additional features such as cross language search. As AI cements itself as the "future of search", the company should be afforded plenty of opportunity to grow alongside it, and should be one to watch as it develops in the coming years.
